BIG Day of Giving, Help Woodland Non-Profits

Christy Hayes, owner of Mojo’s & Kitchen428, let me know about a very cool event called BIG Day of Giving.  It’s a simple concept that can help our local 501(c)3 non-profits in a big way and it’s happening next Tuesday, May 3rd.  Over $9 million has been raised over the last three years through this event for Sacramento region non-profit organizations, so this is clearly a great way to give and for our local non-profits to benefit.

Beginning at midnight on May 3rd, we have 24 hours to donate and support our local non-profits who have registered to be a part of the BIG Day of Giving.  This is an online event and all donations are made through BIG Day of Giving’s website using your credit or debit card.  100% of your tax-deductible donation will go to the non-profit you’ve chosen.  There is a processing fee of 6.2%, see the Rules/FAQs here.

As a bonus, there will be a BIG Day of Giving celebration happening at Heritage Plaza on May 3rd.  Join the lunchtime celebration from noon to 1:30 pm.  Many of our local businesses will be on hand serving refreshments and food, along with music and non-profit booths.

Isn’t this a great way to support our town?

Here are a few of the Woodland non-profits who are looking to benefit from this event:

Friends of the Woodland Public Library

Fourth and Hope

The Wave Channel 21

Woodland Chamber Singers

The Woodland Literacy Council

Woodland Opera House

Exciting Concept! Will the non profits be accepting donations at the event that will be free of the 6.2% convenience/tech fee? Thanks!
