Visit Woodland to host a Scavenger Hunt at First Friday
The organization teamed up with a local shopping app, Nytch, and Historic Downtown Woodland Group to bring folks downtown for the monthly event
The upcoming First Friday, scheduled for next Friday, October 4th from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm will have a twist this time. Visit Woodland, along with the Historic Downtown Woodland Group and the Nytch App, has planned a fun event: a scavenger hunt featuring Woodland businesses. For those who want to join in the fun, participants will be awarded points by visiting specific stores that are featured on an event map. Those who have successfully found all of the scavenger hunt items will be entered to win one of three grand prizes. Grand prize includes a gift basket, valued at $500, with items donated by participating stores and $150 in Downtown Dollars that can be redeemed at participating stores. Second prize will win $100 in Downtown Dollars that you can spend at participating stores and third prize will be $50 in Downtown Dollars that you can spend at participating stores.
“Woodland is a very supportive community and a great place to have a business” said Betty Rickard of the Nest, a business participating in the First Friday Scavenger Hunt. Betty added: “First Fridays and creative games like this scavenger hunt bring us closer to our friends and neighbors.”
“We are working to make local businesses a bigger part of the lives of Woodlanders” explained Jaci Schmauderer of Visit Woodland. “Fortuitously, Woodland businesses are fun to work with because they love trying new things—helping achieve our goal of making Woodland a destination.”
Maps for the event are available at Scavenger Hunt Headquarters inside Blue Wing Gallery, and at all participating business. In order to be entered to win one of the three above mentioned prizes, completed maps must be dropped off upon completion, no later than 8:30 pm on Friday, October 4th at Blue Wing Gallery, located at 405 Main Street. Please know that participating store hours may vary.
Founded in 2015, Visit Woodland was created to increase public awareness of all that Woodland has to offer and, critically, to bring tourism dollars into the community. Nytch, a locally built shopping app, connects offline business to online shoppers. Historic Woodland Downtown Group is a member run organization focused on the promotion and advancement of Downtown Woodland as an area for growth and commerce.
