June 13th, 2019 – Grooveline – Old School Funk / R&B

Grooveline is a high-energy Funk/Old School/R&B party band featuring former members of The Junk Funkies, Evolution and Superlicious. Grooveline is known for bringing non-stop energy and talent to the stage. Whether it’s classic hits from Bobby Brown, Cameo, Kool and the Gang, Prince or P-Funk, or modern classics from Mars or Childish Gambino, Grooveline keeps the crowd dancing all night long. www.facebook.com/Groovelinefunk

June 20th, 2019 – Latin Touch – Cumbia / Latin Rock / R&B

Made up of a versatile and talented cast of eleven musicians, Latin Touch was founded in 2007 and has become one of Northern California’s favorite dance bands.  Their vocalists and rhythm section are backed by three percussionists and a three-piece horn brigade, creating a high-energy party atmosphere for dancers and listeners of all musical persuasions.  The band transports audiences back to a time when partying to the “funky” horn-influenced grooves of Earth, Wind & Fire, KC & The Sunshine Band, and Kool & The Gang was the way to dance the night away.

But a Latin Touch show is much more than that, as the band also wows the crowd with its infectious rhythms of Cumbia, Salsa, Merengue, and Latin Rock.  Combining the right blend of genres has given the band the ability to tailor its performances to a broad audience with different musical tastes, even adding the unexpected to their shows.  So, don’t be surprised if you hear a little Glen Miller or Frank Sinatra added to the mix, or a salsa version of the theme song from the ‘Pink Panther’ movies. Ladies and gentlemen, you’re invited to come along for the ride, and expect the unexpected! http://www.sacramentolatintouch.com

June 27th, 2019 – The Nickel Slots – Americana / Alt-Country

The Nickel Slots take you on a journey through hard times and desperation that always carries hope that better things are just around the corner. With influence from early roots Americana music as well as a touch of rebellious ’70s punk, The Nickel Slots draw the line that connects Johnny Cash to The Clash. From the sentimental folk tune to the foot-stomping, raucous sing-along, their rocking Americana brings you back to a long-lost memory or shared experience of pain, joy, heartache, love, hope, and redemption.

The Nickel Slots have won three Sammie Awards for Outstanding Americana/Alt-Country, one for Best Live Performer, and are now in the Sammies Hall of Fame. Upon the release of their fourth album Pack Up All Regrets, SubMerge Magazine said “The band has carved against the grain to create something truly vibrant.” The Nickel Slots have toured four times in Europe, and in March of 2015 they shared the stage with Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band at their concert at Sleep Train Arena. Their debut music video for “The Devil’s Chain Gang” won Best US Music Video at the 2015 American Online Film Awards, and two awards at the 2013 Sacramento Film and Music Festival. http://www.thenickelslotsmusic.com

About the City of Woodland

Known as the City of Trees, Woodland is the current Yolo County seat. Woodland’s origins trace back to 1850 when California gained its statehood and Yolo County was established. Since the town started growing in population and resources, it has not stopped. The area was well irrigated due to the efforts of James Moore, and this drew people out to try their hand at farming. The endeavor was successful as people found the soil in the area very fertile. The addition of a railroad line, the close proximity to Sacramento (only 20 miles), and to Interstate 5 & Hwy 80, helped to create a thriving city, rich in agriculture and history. http://www.cityofwoodland.org
