Valentine’s Day Type Activities in Woodland

Mayur Gala

How are you spending your Valentine’s Day?  I will be at my daughter’s volleyball tournament all weekend, so unfortunately, I won’t be spending the day with my husband.  That got me thinking, what activities can we do to keep the Valentine’s Day spirit alive on a day that isn’t February 14th?  Here are some Valentine’s Day oriented activities to do with your loved one.

Walk Woodland | Grab your partner, a cinnamon roll, a cup of coffee and take a romantic walk around Historic Woodland.  As an added bonus, make sure to purchase the Explore Historic Woodland walking booklet, sold by the City of Woodland for $15.  This award-winning booklet features walking tour samples along with detailed building/home descriptions.  It is a great way to see Historic Woodland.  Booklets can be purchased at City Hall 300 First Street, Chamber of Commerce 307 First Street, and The House Dresser 617 Main Street.

1.  Guinevere’s Cinnamon rolls  2.  Guinevere’s cup of coffee 3. Create your own walking map  4. Explore Historic Woodland walking booklet

Pet Adoption Drive | Find the four legged kind of love through the Yolo County SPCA Pet Adoption Drive and Fundraiser.  Saturday 2/13, Blue Note Brewing Company will have adoptable animals on site from 3:00 – 7:00 pm.  And 10% of Blue Note’s sales on 2/13 will go to the SPCA.  Also, don’t forget food, toys, and other pet necessities.  Dixie Paws and Claws at 615 Main Street will be glad to help you out.

Love you Latte

Love you latte | Once again, Sweet Potato Pie and Poppies Gallery partner up to bring a fun and memorable ceramic paint class  for kids, ages 6-12.  This is such an easy way for kids to try something new and also experience our downtown area.  Make sure to pre-register at 530.662.8000 to secure your child’s spot.

Food Truck Mania | This month, Food Truck Mania, is on Valentine’s Day!  It’s a free event and everyone is welcome.

Nothing says LOVE on Valentine’s Day like Bacon Mania’s Bacon Grilled Mac N’ Cheese Sandwich or a Tri-Tip Plate from the Buckhorn Grill and Ice Cream Dessert from Happy Cow Ice Cream – Christy Hayes Facebook event page, creator of Food Truck Mania

Bacon is pretty much the only thing I saw in what Christy wrote….if I were in Woodland on Sunday, I would be at the Bacon Mania Truck, no doubt!
